TRICYCLE
The hand-powered tricycle can cover long distances and haul up to 100kgs (220lbs.) of cargo! The tri-cycle is ideal for residents of remote areas and for people who commute long distances to work. Like our wheelchairs, the hand tricycle is able to traverse potholes and mud pits with ease – an essential capability for active lifestyles in Zambia. The hand-crank can be set by the rider to any of 6 gears for speed and ease of cranking. At peak speed, our customers report that they go about as fast as bicyclists. Tricycle riders do not need to have the arms of body builders. While our customers say they enjoy how their arm strength has increased after using the tricycle, they report that the tricycle has been an “amazing” improvement to their mobility even since the first day they got it.

• An all-steel frame primed and painted for durability.

• One 26-inch (66cm) mountain bike wheel in front, and two 28-inch (71.1cm) wheels in back for a smooth ride that goes anywhere

• Fenders on the front and rear wheels for all-weather use.

• 6 speeds

• A wide (50x33cm, or 19.7x13in.) upholstered seat and backrest (50x24cm, or 19.7x9.5in.)
